The foam tail causes this back of the fly to float so it's fun to "guess" where a carp is moving towards and twitch the fly as the fish nears. The floating tail also helps to reduce hang ups on rocky bottoms. The head is heavy so it's best to lead a fish several feet (when the stars align) so as not to spook the fish. When the light is right, the fish are in the mood, this fly is a lot of fun to fish.
