Slender Stone Nymph

Description
During a summer trip to Yellowstone while on leave between assignments in the early 1990s, I stopped in Parks Fly Shop in Gardiner, MT to get some advice on the lower Gardner River. I was steered to the fly bins and the shop guy recommended these "Slender stone nymphs" for the high gradient turbulent waters of the lower Gardner. I picked up a few and they worked like a charm for the plentiful salmon fly and golden stone nymphs found in the Gardner. Several years later while visiting Parks I wanted to pick up a few more of the slender stones, but they no longer carried them. I've been tying them myself ever since.
Tying Process
The slender profile and tungsten bead helps the fly get down quickly in the turbulent water and the wide saltwater flashabou body makes it easy to create a slender profile.
