Description

This pattern was created by George Nelson as a stonefly nymph for the streams in the Oregon Cascades. It was originally tied with a Swannundaze body but that product is no longer available. You can use D-Rib or any other half round solid tubing material.

Materials

• Body: Brown D-Rib or similar material
• Gills: White ostrich herl
• Hackle: Brown saddle
• Legs: Two brown goose biots tied down and back
• Tail: Two brown goose biots tied in a "V"
• Thorax: Natural color hare's ear
• Thread: Brown
• Wing Case: Turkey quill

Hooks

• Tiemco TMC 5662 or similar wet fly hook. Sizes 10-14
