Description
This pattern was created by George Nelson as a stonefly nymph for the streams in the Oregon Cascades. It was originally tied with a Swannundaze body but that product is no longer available. You can use D-Rib or any other half round solid tubing material.
Materials
- Body: Brown D-Rib or similar material
- Gills: White ostrich herl
- Hackle: Brown saddle
- Legs: Two brown goose biots tied down and back
- Tail: Two brown goose biots tied in a "V"
- Thorax: Natural color hare's ear
- Thread: Brown
- Wing Case: Turkey quill
Hooks
- Tiemco TMC 5662 or similar wet fly hook. Sizes 10-14
