Extended Body Brown

By GAT.
Description
I was interested in extended body fly patterns and finally came up with this one.
Tying Process
The body extension was the problem. Partridge actually had (or still has) a hook made with a metal extension but I could never land a fish with patterns made with those hooks. The extension was so solid it would work as a lever to spring the fly out of the mouth of the fish. Other extensions I tried were too soft and wouldn't maintain a shape. I finally came up with using a bristle from a heavy duty cleaning brush. It was easy to tie on the hook and cover with macro chenille available in different brands. It was solid but not so much that it worked as a lever.
